LSI Logic To Acquire SiliconStor For $55M

MILPITAS, CA -- LSI Logic announced its intention to acquire SiliconStor for $55 million in an all cash transaction.

SiliconStor is a privately-held company based in Fremont, CA that provides storage technology focused on the serial ATA and the serial attached SCSI markets.

LSI Logic states that the acquisition of SiliconStor will help build out its full range of offerings to enterprises wanting to choose from among all types of server and storage systems.  The company claims that it will be one of the only storage system suppliers to offer a solution for all nodes of the storage system supply chain.
